Chapter One: Making the Decision to be Healthy and Fit.

It is said, the starting point of all creation is thought, whereby "thought" is a decision to bring something into existence. To our purpose here, the decision is to be healthy and fit.

The foundation of the decision to be healthy and fit is an acceptance of the facts: that the benefits of being healthy and fit have been scientifically proven; study after study has shown empirical evidence that a healthy diet and exercise regime aids in protecting against illness and adds to longevity. In addition, being healthy and fit has a lot of other benefits, some of which include: looking good, feeling good, being able to participate in various physical activities, being comfortable on airline flights, being attractive and more.

Homework: Start a fitness journal and begin it by making a list of "facts." The facts are intended to build the foundation for your own personal Decision to be healthy and fit. Take your time with the list, revise it and if necessary, investigate the facts. What’s important here, is that you take your decision seriously. In fact, your decision has to be resolute or it will not stick.
